Milena Armani, MD |
Milena Armani, MD, is a licensed child and adolescent psychiatrist who is board certified in Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry. She is also a certified provider of Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She is originally from Brazil and is fluent in Portuguese and English.
Emily Aron, MD |
Emily Aron, MD, is a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist with a particular interest in infant and early childhood mental health. After completing her general residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai Hospital, she completed her child and adolescent fellowship at NYU.
Dr. Aron is experienced in multiple therapy modalities including those that focus on prevention for young children and their parents such as Parent Child Interaction Therapy and Child Parent Psychotherapy. Dr. Aron provides services in historically marginalized community settings focusing on trauma and resilience while also addressing social determinants of mental health and advocating for social justice.
Jack Krasuski, MD |
Dr. Krasuski spent three years as a Senior Staff Fellow at the National Institute on Aging, NIH, where he did research in the neuroimaging of dementing disorders. Currently, he spends most of his time lecturing to thousands of physicians yearly on psychiatric topics. He is known for his ability to clearly explain complex and little understood topics.
Steven Pliszka, MD |
Dr. Pliszka is Board-Certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and been a member of the Faculty since 1986. He is the chairman of the Department of Psychiatry. His expertise is in using medication to help control symptoms and minimize side effects to treat a wide range of disorders in adults and children including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), mood and anxiety disorders. Dr. Pliszka does not provide psychotherapy but refers these matters to colleagues. He has published two books on the treatment of ADHD and its co-occurring conditions.
Ruth Potee, MD |
Dr. Ruth Potee is a board certified Family Physician and Addiction Medicine physician who works in western Massachusetts. She attended Wellesley College, Yale University School of Medicine and did her residency at Boston University where she remained an assistant professor of Family Medicine for eight years. She is currently the Medical Director for the Franklin County House of Corrections, the Director of Addiction Services for Behavioral Health Network, and the medical director for the Pioneer Valley Regional School District as well as the Co-Chair of the Healthcare Solutions Committee of the Opioid Task Force of Franklin County and the North Quabbin Region. She was named Franklin County Doctor of the Year by the Massachusetts Medical Society in 2015 and has won multiple teaching awards from medical students and residents.
Jefferson Prince, MD |
Dr. Jefferson Prince is an Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, the Director of Child Psychiatry for North Shore Medical Center in Salem, Massachusetts, and a Staff Member at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston in the Child Psychiatry and Pediatric Psychopharmacology Clinics.
Dr. Prince is involved in research into the characterization and treatment of ADHD across the lifespan as well as pediatric mood, anxiety substance disorders. Dr. Prince is interested in collaborations between Pediatrics and Psychiatry and serves as the Medical Director of the Massachusetts Child Psychiatry Access Project at North Shore Medical Center. In addition, Dr. Prince serves as a member of the Board of the Children’s Trust Fund. He earned his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, and completed his residencies in Psychiatry and Acute Psychiatry Service at Massachusetts General Hospital. Subsequently, he completed his Clinical Fellowship in Child Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospitals in Boston.
Dr Prince is board certified in General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr Prince is also the recipient of many awards and honors including the distinction of Laughlin Fellow for the American College of Psychiatrists. In 2005, Dr. Prince was selected as one of the Best Doctors in America.
Ximena Sanchez-Samper, MD |
Dr. Ximena Sanchez-Samper is a board-certified addiction psychiatrist. Dr. Sanchez-Samper trained at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., and completed her addictions fellowship through Massachusetts General Hospital in 2004. After working with adolescents and young adults (and their families) with substance use disorders at Children’s Hospital Boston for many years, she transferred to McLean Hospital where she was the Medical Director at one of one of their residential programs.
Dr. Sanchez-Samper is an advocate of incorporating Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) into the comprehensive care of patients struggling with alcohol and opioid use disorders and has been prescribing Buprenorphine (Suboxone) since obtaining her waiver in 2003. She co-authored both a book chapter (“Opioid Use by Adolescents,” Handbook of Office-Based Buprenorphine Treatment of Opioid Dependence, 2011) and published an article in a peer review journal (“Adolescent Substance Abuse”, General Considerations, Pediatrics in Review, 2009) addressing the needs of patients struggling with addiction and its aftermath. Dr. Sanchez-Samper is an instructor at Harvard Medical School and enjoys lecturing nationwide on substance use disorder identification, diagnosis, and treatment.
Karim Ghobrial-Sedky, MD |
Dr. Karim Ghobrial-Sedky has been the Family Health Centers of San Diego Psychiatry Program Director since its inception. He is board-certified in general psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, sleep medicine and addiction medicine. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and American Academy of Sleep Medicine. He speaks English and Arabic.
He graduated from Alexandria University in Alexandria, Egypt. He completed his psychiatry residency at Drexel University (formerly known as MCP Hahnemann), as well as a child and adolescent psychiatry residency in the same program. Dr. Sedky have held several leadership and educational positions including the director of the inpatient unit at Hershey Medical Center, medical student educational director at Cooper University Hospital/Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CUH/CMSRU) and the psychiatry program director at CUH.
Dr. Sedky has a passion for teaching, education, and research. He has several awards, including a Residency Award for Research Excellence, Penn State Milton Hershey Resident’s Award for Teaching Excellence and was recognized by Cooper Health System and Rowan University in 2018. In addition, he was the recipient of the Techiner Award in 2021 to support the psychodynamic curriculum development at CUH program. He has been involved in both ADMSEP and AADPRT over the years. In addition, Dr. Sedky is well published and is very interested in the intersection between psychiatry, addiction, and sleep medicine.
